gauge-highThe Dashboard

Tells you what needs attention right now. Where you're low, where you're out, and what's changed.

The Dashboard tab gives you a quick read on your inventory health without digging into the full catalog. Open it first thing in the morning and you know exactly what to act on.

Stock Across All Locations

Three numbers at the top of the dashboard:

Metric
What To Do

Out of Stock

These need restocking now. Someone's about to make a trip if you don't act.

Low Stock

These are heading toward a problem. Reorder before they become urgent.

In Stock

You're good here. Nothing to do.

Location Breakdown

Below the summary, each location shows its item count and stock alerts. You can see at a glance which yard, trailer, or shop needs attention without switching to the catalog.

Recent Activity

The bottom of the dashboard shows recent inventory changes. Each entry shows the item, the quantity change, the location, who made the change, and when. This is your activity log for what's been moving.

When to Use the Dashboard

Check the dashboard at the start of your day or before a weekly planning session. It answers two questions fast:

  1. What needs attention right now? Out of Stock items.

  2. What's trending toward a problem? Low Stock items.

For everything else, switch to the Catalog tab.

New to Inventory?

The first time you open Inventory, a help panel walks you through the basics. You'll also see a Load Sample Data button that fills your catalog with example items so you can explore views, reordering, labels, and the full workflow before adding your own data.

Sample items all have "SAMP" in their SKU. When you're ready for real data, search "SAMP" in the catalog, select all, and delete them in one shot. You can load sample data even if you already have real items in the system.
