Documents you create and maintain directly in LeanScaper AI.

LeanDocs are your native documents. Create SOPs, policies, guides, and any content your team needs to reference. Everything you build here becomes part of what Lana knows about your business.

Creating a LeanDoc

  1. Go to LeanDocs in the sidebar

  2. Click + Create

  3. Give your document a title

  4. Start writing

That's it. Your document saves automatically as you work.

Organizing with Labels

Labels help you categorize and find documents. A document can have multiple labels.

To add labels:

  1. Open the document or click the three-dot menu from the list

  2. Click Add/remove labels

  3. Select the labels you want

To filter by label:

  1. Click Filter at the top of the LeanDocs list

  2. Select a label to see only matching documents

Labels are for organization only. They don't affect who can access a document.

Setting Access

Control who can see each LeanDoc using the access dropdown.

Built-in roles:

  • Employee - Anyone on your team

  • Finance Admin - Finance team and admins only

  • Admin - Admins only

Custom groups: Your crew groups and other custom groups appear below the built-in roles. Select a group to restrict access to those members.

Finding Documents

Search: Use the search bar to find documents by title or content.

Sort: Click Sort to order by title or last updated.

Filter: Click Filter to show only documents with specific labels.

Ask Lana: You can also ask Lana about your LeanDocs directly. "What does our SOP say about..." or "Find the document about overtime policy."

Referencing LeanDocs Through Lana

When you ask Lana questions, she draws from your LeanDocs automatically. But AI isn't always perfect at finding the right content.

Be specific when needed. If Lana's answer seems off or generic, try directing her more explicitly:

  • "Look in my employee handbook for the overtime policy"

  • "Check the client complaint SOP"

  • "What does the Johnson property prep document say about..."

The more specific you are about where to look, the more accurate Lana's answers become.

What to Create

LeanDocs work well for content you want to build and maintain over time:

  • Standard operating procedures

  • Company policies and handbooks

  • Service descriptions and pricing

  • Ideal customer profiles (ICPs)

  • Marketing copy and messaging examples

  • Examples of what "good" looks like (proposals, emails, processes)

  • Strategy documents and plans

  • Client communication templates

  • Competitive intelligence

  • Meeting notes that others need to reference

Tip: When you find yourself explaining the same thing twice, that's a signal to create a LeanDoc. Capture it once, and the knowledge scales.
