Managing Boards
Customize columns for your workflow, and create boards for specific needs.
LeanBoards come pre-configured for common landscape workflows, but you can also create new boards. This page covers board management and settings.
System Boards vs. Custom Boards
LeanScaper AI has two types of boards:
System Boards (6 total): Ops, Customer, Shop, HQ, Continuous Improvement, and Action Items. These are pre-configured with columns designed for their specific workflows.
Custom Boards: Boards you create for needs specific to your business.

Viewing Your Boards
Click LeanBoards in the sidebar to see all boards. The list shows:
Board name
Last updated date
Options menu (three dots)
Click any board to open it. Use the options menu to access Manage or Delete (for custom boards only).
Managing Board Settings
To manage a board:
Go to LeanBoards in the sidebar
Find the board you want to manage
Click the three-dot menu on the right
Select Manage
This opens the board management screen where you can configure columns (for custom boards).
Managing Columns (Custom Boards Only)
For custom boards, you can add, rename, reorder, and delete columns to match your workflow.
System boards have fixed columns. The six pre-configured boards (Ops, Customer, Shop, HQ, Continuous Improvement, Action Items) have columns that can't be changed. This ensures consistency across your team.
Adding Columns
Open the board management screen
Under Columns, click + Add Column
Enter the column name
The column appears at the end of the list
Reordering Columns
Drag columns using the handle on the left to reorder them. Cards flow through columns from left to right, so order matters.
Renaming Columns
Click the column name to edit it, or use the options menu for that column.
Deleting Columns
Use the options menu on a column to delete it. Be careful: cards in that column will need to be moved first.
Creating Custom Boards
Custom boards let you build workflows for needs your system boards don't cover — with your own board name and fully configurable columns.
Simply click "My Boards" menu option at the top of the LeanBoards landing page and click the "Create" button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Deleting Custom Boards
You can delete custom boards you've created:
Go to LeanBoards in the sidebar
Click the options menu on the board you want to delete
Select Delete
Confirm
Deleting a board deletes all its cards. Make sure any important information is captured elsewhere before deleting.
System boards cannot be deleted.
Tips
Start with the system boards. They cover most common needs. Give them a real try before creating custom boards.
Keep board membership intentional. Not everyone needs access to every board. Match members to who actually works that type of request.
Review access periodically. As team members change roles or leave, update board membership accordingly.
