Editing LeanDocs
A simple editor for creating documents that power your AI.
LeanDocs use a block-based editor. Each paragraph, heading, or list is its own block that you can move, format, or delete independently.
Working with Blocks
Click anywhere in a document to start typing. Press Enter to create a new block.
To see formatting options: Type / at the start of a new line to open the block menu, or click the + icon that appears when you hover on the left side of a block.
Available block types include: headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, numbered lists, checklists, toggle lists, quotes, images, and more. Explore the menu to see all options.
To move a block: Hover over the left edge and drag using the handle that appears.
To delete a block: Click into the block and delete all the text, or use the block menu.
Real-Time Collaboration
Multiple people can edit the same LeanDoc at the same time. You'll see other people's cursors as they work.
Changes sync automatically. There's no need to coordinate who's editing when, and no risk of overwriting each other's work.
Auto-Save
LeanDocs save automatically as you type. You'll see "Saved!" in the corner confirming your changes are stored.
There's no save button. Just write, and your work is preserved.
Writing for AI
Since LeanDocs feed into Lana's knowledge, a few practices help the AI understand and use your content better.
Be contextually complete. If your document references something specific, include enough context that it stands alone. "Use the standard process" is less useful than explaining what that process actually is.
One topic per document tends to work well. A focused document on "How We Handle Client Complaints" is easier for Lana to reference accurately than a mega-document covering all customer service topics.
Skip decorative elements. You can add images to LeanDocs, but think about whether they help the AI understand your content. A photo showing the correct equipment setup? Useful. Your company logo at the top of every document? That just adds noise to the knowledge base without adding knowledge.
Skip formatting that's just for print. Headers and footers with page numbers, repeated section titles, tables of contents for navigation. These make sense in printed documents but don't help when feeding AI. Focus on the substance.
Keep it current. Outdated information in your knowledge base leads to outdated answers from Lana. When processes change, update the LeanDoc.
Common Questions
Can I undo changes?
Use Cmd+Z (Mac) or Ctrl+Z (Windows) to undo recent changes within your current editing session.
Can I copy content from other sources?
Yes. Paste from Word, Google Docs, or other sources, and the editor will do its best to preserve formatting. Complex layouts may need adjustment.
